Holme-next-the-Sea Neighbourhood Plan

This page contains a copy of the Neighbourhood Plan documents. The definitive version can be found on the Borough Council of Kings Lynn and West Norfolk Website by clicking here.

The Plan is divided into five parts (Parts A – E).

  • Part A – Introduction and Background to the Parish: This describes the Neighbourhood Area and the underlying changes that have been taking place. It looks at the community profile, housing, the economy and the environment.  Part A concludes with sections summarising the key issues and opportunities facing the Parish and the NDP vision and objectives which these have influenced.

  • Part B – Policies: Explains the vision, objectives and underlying approach to the Plan. It presents the 25 NDP policies organised into Area-Specific (based on zones) and Area-Wide (General, Economic, Social and Environmental). Each policy wording is preceded by a short statement describing its purpose and is followed by supporting text which provides background together with brief justification and references to key higher order policy in the Local Plan and the National Planning Policy Framework.

  • Part C – Glossary of Terms: This provides definitions of the technical terms used in the Plan.

  • Part D – Maps & Graphics: This contains full size documents identical to the smaller scale maps included alongside the policies in Part B but better suited to working purposes.

  • Part E – Building Styles Sheet: National Planning Policy requires that great weight should be given to conserving landscape and scenic beauty in Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty which have the highest status of protection in relation to landscape and scenic beauty. Small villages and hamlets play a vital role in this respect and this style sheet identifies some of the important features that contribute to the AONB sense of place and make places like Holme-next-the-Sea so very special.
